The Growth of the Tatted Cloth

My tatting project is slowly growing! I have not snipped all the threads but here it is now. I think that I am maybe 1/5 of the way done.

Almost done with Bea's quilt

For some reason it is taking me a long time to finish this quilt. But I am binding it now! Yesterday it was a delightful fall day so after church I sat on the back porch and worked on binding. Soon I will finish it and send it off to Oregon.

Still tatting away

I have been slowly working on my tatted alter cloth.

Today I almost ran out of thread. Luckily I just made it (sans shuttle at the end). Just enough to tie off. I was so happy!

Castle quilt 1

So I finally finished one of the castle quilts. Thus far the smallest. I am still practicing machine quilting on my machine.

Pretty cute!

Quilting for Bea

This last month has been a little crazy with moving and such. So not a lot of progress with quilts or tatting. However we are now in a beautiful new home and will be settled soon.

When I was at my moms I made a quilt top for Bea and now I am hand quilting it.

I neglected to take a picture of it up on the frame while I was basting it (it was outside and beautiful) but here it is on the hoop.

The corner I am currently working on

I love the look of double quilting

Bea's quilt

I started another quilt today. I am still missing one fabric so it is not done yet. It will be. A twin size in the end for my niece who is 1!

Piecing it on the ground

Part of it sewn together

Mom found three of the fabric pieces when she was visiting Portland. So soon they will wend their way back there.

I finished the peacock!

Now is the time to find a frame! It will be fun. I like how the outlining really made it pop.

Over the weekend I had fun being an aunt.

Clover Medallion

Yesterday I decided to make a little tatting project. It is pretty fun to come up with your own pattern because you never know what to expect when you start it. I think it turned out quite well. A variation of this pattern would make a nice edging as well.

More on the Peacock

So the peacock cross stitch is coming a long quite nicely. I don't have that much more to do. I just started another cluster of flowers. The peacock just needs the outlining work.

My very first tatting pattern

I decided today that I was a good enough tatter that I could design my own pattern.

So far this is what I have. I am pretty pleased with it.

I also finished the top of a castle quilt today. I will post pictures of that later. It is awesome.

Feathers, feathers, and more feathers

I have been working on the cross stitch some more. I have been doing lots of feathers.

Yesterday when I went to the store I decided to get some fabric to make a castle quilt. It will be smallish and maybe a wall hanging. It should be awesome. I am going to do a variation of the castle I made for Juniper. But just the castle. I will start it today. We shall see how far I get.

Lost Ships Progress

So I am visiting my sister and I forgot my quilting ruler but my sister's ruler is working nicely. It is kinda short but hey...it works!

Lots of squares

Lots of little triangles

This is how I am thinking I will piece it

More feathers (and a few Boston pictures)

Here it is.  The feathers are coming nicely.  Admittedly I did not work on it today. Instead I worked on the quilt. But I did not really take good pictures. Tomorrow I will post the quilt progress.

Yesterday I went to Boston. It was so fun.

Here is the view from 50 floors high

And the view from the ride across the harbor

Mom's Bento Box Quilt

My mom made this quilt in its entirety. Isn't it fantastic? (I did help choose the fabric). When I asked her to send me some pictures of the quilts I made that are at her house she sent me these pictures as well.

Most of the fabric is from a fabulous little quilting store in Holt (the same place I found the back to Juniper's quilt).
