Another castle

Here is another castle quilt. They are so fun to make.

And here is the back.

Nellie helped me design this one.

Tardis quilt

I have been gone all summer in Connecticut.  For some reason I that made me unable to update this blog. Oh well. Maybe I will get better. Maybe.

Adelaide's birthday is coming up. I decided to make her a quilt for it. So far it is a surprise. I think that I can keep it a surprise.

I started with the windows.

And worked from there.

Did some embroidery.

And some more embroidery.

She has seen parts. But has not realized what it is.

It is huge!

I am super excited about the back.

Exploding Tardis!

So now is time to quilt it. I am probably going to put a little appliqué on it before I quilt.

Oh the things aunts will do for their neices.

Bea's Quilt

I finished this a few months ago and I found a picture!

Lost Ships Quilt

I also finished my lost ships quilt. So far no one has claimed it yet.

Maybe I should have cleaned Adelaide's room before I took this picture...

The fusible batting was a stinker on this one and would only fuse to one side. And the orange floral, although lovely had a tendency to bunch. It took forever to machine quilt! And I had to unpick a lot! But I am pleased with the final product.

Finished Tree of Life

I never posted the finished picture. This is the best one I could find.

Maybe I should have Samantha take a picture of it hung up in her place. This one is hung over another picture.

Castles

I am loving the castle quilts. Here are two of them.

I just sent this one to one of my friends. It looks like I forgot to take a picture of it totally done.

Adelaide has claimed this one.

More and more quilts

I have completed quite a few castle quilts. They are so fun to make. But I also finished my other quilt. So here are some pictures.

I am getting better and better at machine quilting. So far my trick is fusible bating and sitting on the floor.

Grant has claimed this quilt as his.

Quilt update

I am farther than these pictures indicate. But I am posting them anyway.

All red and white. But running out of red fabric. Samantha purchased the fabric years ago so there is no way I can match it.

I added blue. I love the red and blue but decided to add another color too.

What could be better. Working on a quilt and reading Jane Austen. (And the green fabric has hummingbirds.)

I am now trying to figure out a border. I am tempted to add yellow in my border. I will incorporate the blue and green as well. So fun!

Tree of life

Samantha requested a wall hanging so I decided to make her a tree of life one.

It is not quite done but should not take long to finish.

I used a slick trick I found on the Internet using aluminum foil to make the perfect circles. It was totally slick.

A new quilt

I started a new quilt. I don't have enough fabric to make it two toned so now I have to decide how I am going to finish it.

Yes I am currently sewing while sitting crosslegged on the floor

So far I am loving the contrast

Preening Peacock

I finally framed my peacock! And give it to Laura for Christmas.
